The 1 Thing Not to Ignore as a Female Soul-o-preneur

The 1 Thing NOT to Ignore as a Female Soul-o-preneur

I had a blog post all ready to go, but then something happened that, quite frankly, needs to be talked about. It’s the one thing that we (as women) know as truth, but in the masculine world of business, we ignore, push aside, get through, and don't talk about. That is our moon cycles. As I come to the end of my moon cycles, each blood that does happen is precious to me, but I've not been mindful enough to realize that I wasn't truly honoring it as a business woman, until now.

Not so long ago, moon cycles were honored and considered sacred. A woman on her moon was excused from work because her energies were powerful and no longer about the outside world. She went to a secluded and safe place with other women who were bleeding also. What mattered during this time was the inside world, messages, signs, and voices. It was a strong intuitive time, a time to talk to Spirit for the good of herself, her family, and her community. She would have visions, journey, sleep, and dream. A woman would spend the time interpreting these messages for the good of all. This bleeding woman took care of herself and was adorned and pampered by the Elder women of the community. Some scholars believe that as the patriarchy began to rise, menstrual blood taboos were used to control women. It was no longer something powerful or sacred. It was a disgusting waste product to be ridiculed and laughed about. Modern woman took on these taboos as her own, but there is another way.

Once a month, women are blessed with a releasing and cleansing that men are not. This goes for Elder women as well as those still having their blood cycle. So, how can you leverage the energies and power of the blood for your business and honor it at the same time?

From the feminine side:
  • Observe, listen and feel the energies swirling in your body.
  • Honor Mother Earth with your blood if you feel called.
  • Set good boundaries. Spend this time in a “red tent” of sorts, be silent and alone as much as you can, and really feel the power that lies within you.
  • Pamper yourself. You are in a feminine state of being, not a masculine state of doing. Work with your body’s natural rhythms. You and your business will benefit from this down time.

From the masculine side:

  • Lighten your to-do list. Leave the outside world behind as often and as much as you can.
  • Take naps. Do what you can, but honor the rest that you need. No more pushing through.
  • Drink a lot of fluid. There is a lot of water in your blood.
  • Spend time in nature. Listen to the messages that it has for you.

From the Intuition:
This is a time when your intuition and creativity is the strongest. How can you leverage this power in your business? Do you need some creative guidance?  Pay attention to your dreams and visions. Your senses are heightened for a reason. Be observant.

From Spirit
: It is a time to go inward and leave the outside world behind. Look for messages, journey, sleep, and dream. How can you be more of service to yourself, your family, your community (including your clients and customers), and the world? Pray about it.

A woman’s energy ebbs and flows during the month. It is powerful. If you ignore it, life can feel difficult, and you end up disconnected from your natural healing cycle. Don't allow your masculine state of doing stop you from accessing the inner well of your own power found in your moon cycle. This doesn’t serve anyone, nor does it serve your business. Take the time to know and honor your cycle, and the power that lies within you.

Women are magic. As a soulful, sacred woman, you can create magic in your life and business! Honor ALL of you!
